What is Ubuntu Server Edition?

This version will receive updates for 18 months. When the next version
is released, you can upgrade for free.
Installing Ubuntu Server
Just boot your server from this CD. The ‘go back’ option provides
non-default configuration possibilities, such as assigning a static IP
address, or usage of LVM, RAID or iSCSI volumes. Full documentation is

System requirements
Your server must have at least 128 MB of RAM and 1GB of disk space.
This edition will run on AMD64 and Intel x64-based computers (including
AMD Opteron and Intel EM64T Xeon). A 32-bit version of Ubuntu Server
can be provided upon
request.
Ubuntu and its regular updates will always be free of charge.
